Intelligent Energy Europe

Checks

ENGINE activities are aiming at increasing energy efficiency in SMEs in two ways: first of all energy advisors are motivated and properly trained to have the necessary capacities in place. Secondly, these experts will approach SMEs - either general  management or persons responsible for energy -  and do energy efficiency checks.

ENGINE aims at implementing 56 checks within the course of the project in various industries in all regions. In general the structure of such a  audit can be described as follows:

  1. Status quo: site inspection, data collection, identifying focus, interviews
  2. Elaboration: descriping company, analysing data, benchmarking
  3. Determination: determining energy saving potentials
  4. Proposal: drafting an implementation plan and suggesting necessary steps

The minimum duration of ENGINE energy efficiency checks will be five days.
